PALM SPRINGS, CA - There are no words to describe the 2014 Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend. Pulling all the stops, the event was not only massive  but was also, and most importantly, pure magic. The Dinah 2014 was filled with special moments, unforgettable firsts, and significant milestones.

Thousands of women from all over the world gathered in Palm Springs over this past weekend to attend the 24th anniversary of the biggest lesbian event of its kind on the planet, Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend - the original Dinah Shore Weekend. 

The Dinah 2014 was all about celebration, living out loud and transforming lives. 

The legendary annual 5-day event not only provided a life changing experience to all attendees offering them the freedom to be who they truly are and gain a tremendous amount of self worth, but also to its epic slate of Top Ten Billboard headliners that made up one hell of a line up - one of the greatest in The Dinah's history.

Tegan and Sara’s sold out concert marked the first time the lesbian cult favorites performed at an all lesbian event. The Canadian twin sisters gave an emotionally heartfelt speech on stage about how they’ve always dreamed of attending The Dinah. 

Rap titan EVE, who drew massive crowds, enjoyed her Dinah experience so much that she joined the crowd on the dance floor after her electrifying show. Mary Lambert, the voice behind Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ VMA award-winning pro-equality “Same Love”, brought the crowd to tears at the Sunday Pool Party with a live performance that can only be described as stunningly divine. Meanwhile Grammy Award-Winning R&B diva, Evelyn "Champagne" King raised the roof with her multi-million selling classic old-school smashes  “Shame” and ”Love Come Down”. 

Also, hip-hop’s biggest revelation, Iggy Azalea, whose brand new single “Fancy” is currently sitting at #1 on several music charts around the world, gave a killer performance during the White Party delivering her spellbinding rap songs with effortless repartee and leaving Dinah audiences in complete awe. Having played an integral part in catapulting the careers of international superstars in the likes of Lady Gaga, Kesha, Katy Perry and The Pussycat Dolls - all Dinah alumnae - the Aussie blonde bombshell is certifiably already on her way to follow the footsteps of her predecessors. 

Another smash hit at this year’s monumental Dinah Shore Weekend was the L Word Pool Party hosted in association with Showtime. Originally scheduled for Saturday, the event had to be extended (at the last minute) to Sunday as well due to overwhelming response.  

The L Word reunion was a Dinah exclusive with the series icons, Laurel Holloman selling her abstract art poolside, and Leisha Hailey and Katherine Moennig hosting a meet-and-greet that wrapped around the side of the entire pool area of the Hilton hotel.

As 2014 marked the 10^th Anniversary of the official television debut of The L Word, Club Skirts and SHOWTIME proudly commemorated the nostalgia of a memorable era in lesbian culture that celebrated out loud our “girls in tight dresses who drag with mustaches”.

All in all, The Dinah 2014 was beyond EPIC - significantly the largest Dinah EVER. 

The legendary Palm Springs’ signature event broke all records on so many different levels and proved to be an unprecedented massive success.

A cultural phenomenon that has over these past 24 years reached stratospheric proportions,The Dinah has certifiably come to represent an ever-growing movement that has crossed over to mainstream bringing more and more visibility to the lesbian community - one that had never existed before.

As The Dinah 2014 came to a close, we all departed Palm Springs with profound nostalgia for a one-of-a-kind weekend that gifted our hearts with unforgettable memories and changed our lives forever. 

We can now all look forward to next year as the Dinah turns 25, April 1-5, 2015.

Club Skirts founder and producer, Mariah Hanson, is already planning for the milestone Silver Jubilee’s Anniversary, which promises to be like nothing we've ever seen before.

PALM SPRINGS, CA – Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend has just announced the addition of Laurel Holloman to its celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the L Word’s TV premiere.

Holloman, better known as Tina Kennard, will be joining her former co-stars Kate Moennig (Shane McCutcheon) and Leisha Hailey (Alice Pieszecki) for an exclusive cast member reunion at the Dinah’s “L Word Pool Party” presented in association with Showtime.

The L Word actress and accomplished painter will be showing and selling her prints of a series entitled “Written on the Body”, poolside at the Palm Springs Hilton Hotel, all day, Saturday, April 5 during the L Word Pool Party and Sunday April 6 during the “Wet & Wild Pool Party”.

Holloman’s appearance at the Dinah will mark her second exclusive private showing for Club Skirts, something she wanted to give to her fans and art lovers for their continuous support. Dinah attendees will be able to purchase posters of her pieces and meet with The L Word star that will be on hand to personally sign each copy.

We all remember the famous episode in Season One that saw Shane, Alice, Jenny, and Dana embark on an eventful road trip to The Dinah. Not only did we found out about Bette and Tina’s first kiss, were privy to a few comical moments between the gang, got introduced to weird Tonya, but most importantly we also were given for the first time ever on national TV an exclusive preview of what the legendary Dinah Shore weekend was all about.

Now a decade later, Club Skirts and SHOWTIME are proudly commemorating the nostalgia of a memorable era in lesbian culture that celebrated out loud our “girls in tight dresses who drag with mustaches” with three of its most beloved characters!

Holloman began her film career with her breakout role as Randy Dean in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. She has appeared in many independent and feature films including Boogie Nights and Tumbleweeds. Most recently she had an 18 episode stint on TeenNick's Gigantic, which co-starred Meryl Streep's daughter Grace Gummer. But it was her iconic role as Tina Kennard opposite Jennifer Beals (aka Bette Porter) on The L Word that not only earned her a Golden Satellite Award as Best Actress in a Drama series, but also captured our hearts and forever got her the undivided attention of millions of lesbians around the world.  

After acting for 20 years, she successfully made the transition to the art world solidifying her reputation as an established abstract expressionism artist known for using intense colors and mural-sized canvases. 

Since the launch of her studio, LaurelHollomanStudio.net, Holloman's artistic career has naturally evolved from painting for charities, to solo exhibits in Europe. After hosting her first two solo art shows “Coeur Libre” and “Free Falling” in Paris, France, and Venice, Italy, respectively, she recently presented her new exhibition of large scale murals called "All The World Inside” at the sumptuous “Palazzo Italia” in Berlin, Germany. 

One of her greatest acknowledgement in the art world came in June 2013 when she was invited to exhibit her painting, "Swell," in the 55^th“Biennale”, the prestigious international arts festival held in Venice, Italy. In addition, in 2012  “Let Me Fall” sold for a record 125,000 Euros - a breaking price point record for female painters.

A true Renaissance woman, Holloman is at once a talented actress, exquisite painter and devoted mother to her two daughters Lola and Nala.  And before hopping on her next flight to Europe for another exhibition of her spectacular portfolio, she will be at The Dinah in Palm Springs, CA, autographing posters of her  “Written on the Body” artwork for fans to add to their L Word memorabilia collection!

Also headlining the "Black Party" is female rap titan Eve. The Grammy-Award winning rapper will perform her slew of music anthems including "Satisfaction," “Who’s That Girl”, "Gangsta Lovin’”, and "Let Me Blow Your Mind". Also set to top the bill at the epic lesbian party is hip-hop’s biggest revelation Iggy Azalea who will take center stage at the iconic "White Party", Friday, April 4 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

Returning this year is the “Celebrity Poker Tournament” with all proceeds going to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). Also coming back is The Dinah Film Festival presented by OML, held on Friday, April 4, at 8:00 p.m at the Hilton Hotel. Produced by award-winning filmmaker JD DiSalvatore  (the producer of Shelter, Marine Story and Elena undone, to name a few), the Dinah film Festival will showcase a variety of quality lesbian films including “Little Horribles”  "Nikki & Nora", "Kiss Her I'm Famous", "Dyke Central", and the short film "Secrets & Toys", among others.  

New this year is the "Battle of the DJs" hosted by Dinah's resident DJs Lezlee, Asha, Lisa Pittman, Saratonin and Amara. The competition held over two-days will feature some of the best DJs on the West Coast!

On Saturday, April 5, 2014, The L Word stars Leisha Hailey and Kate Moennig will, respectively, step back one more time into their famed Alice Pieszecki and Shane McCutcheon shoes for an exclusive meet and greet hosted from 2:30pm to 5:00pm at The Hilton Hotel. Fans will also be able to catch them on the red carpet at the Dinah's "Black Party" held later on Saturday night at the Palm Springs Convention Center. 

Dinah attendees will have the once in a lifetime chance to take photos and get their favorite L Word memorabilia autographed by two of the most popular characters of the beloved, critically-acclaimed television series. Since the show ended its five-year run on March 8, 2009, both Kate and Leisha have been keeping busy entertainment careers. Kate is currently starring on the hit series on SHOWTIME Ray Donovan, playing the role of Lena –one of Ray’s associates. She’s also filming “My Dead Boyfriend”, a film based on Arthur Nersesian’s 2000 novel Dogrun also starring Heather Graham, Gina Gershon and Angela Featherstone. As for Leisha, she’s still making music as one half of the acclaimed electropop duo Uh Huh Her and is getting ready to release the first single off “Future Souls” dubbed “Innocence” available February 4 on iTunes.

SHOWTIME has been a long-time supporter of the LGBT community with programs like The L Word and The Real L Word^®, and has developed over the years a close relationship with Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend. The Dinah served as the focal location for both series.

We all remember Shane, Alice, Jenny, and Dana eventful roadtrip to The Dinah, the biggest lesbian event in the world, in Season One. Likewise, The Real L Word shot episodes of Season One and Two at Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend and notably dedicated two back-to-back full episodes to the event in its third season.

Speaking about The Real L Word, the reality TV show will also have a prominent presence at the highly-anticipated Pool Party with a live performance by Season 3 cast members, Hunter Valentine. The all-female Power, pop/punk band will take the stage at the Hilton Hotel at5:00pm and will close the massive Pool Bash with a special meet & greet.

Ellen DeGeneres Has A New Sitcom! But Who Should Be Her Leading Lady?

That's right, Ellen (along with comedic genius and writer of 2 Broke Girls, Liz Feldman) announced last month that they were penning a lesbian-centric sitcom for NBC. Yes, this article is partly in response to a recent AfterEllen.com post (click HERE), and here's why.

For one thing, some answers to this question we just didn't agree to. Here's an example:

Now you're probably thinking "but Leisha Hailey is amazing! She'd be perfect and she's hilarious!" All of these things are true. But we're not ready to say goodbye to Uh Huh Her just yet. Their music is too awesome. And putting Leisha back on screen is going to force a hiatus upon that. So, for now, Leisha needs to stick to her guitar.

There were some choices we did agree with. For instance, AfterEllen's Heather Hogan mentioned Lizzie Caplan (Masters of Sex, Mean Girls) and Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation), both of whom would be perfect.

However, I asked some of my lesbian friends (a mini version of AfterEllen's huddle, if you will), and here's who they came up with.

Nikki: Fortune Feimster! Yes she's a star of Chelsea Lately, but she needs more screen-time. She's hilarious.

Gabi: Ali Liebert. She's a great actress and her time was cut short on Bomb Girls.

Mickie: There are so many I'd choose! I'm going with Rachel Shelley. She's definitely good at comedy. And she's hot. And I miss Helena Peabody.

Shulli: Cobie Smulders. She's normal, she's funny, she's loveable. Oh, she's hot too.

My choice? I have to go with former Law and Order: SVU alum, Diane Neal. Pay attention to her Twitter and you'll find out that Diane really wants to do more comedy. And who doesn't want to see her hitting on ladies!?

I'm sure it's a while since we've properly heard of these two gorgeous ladies.

Yep, you all know The L Word's Leisha Hailey on the left, and the equally beautiful one on the right is lead vocalist of their band Uh Huh Her, Camila Grey.

All you really to know is that, right now, the duo are touring North America and Canada, and I'm pretty sure they're headlining an all-girl music fest in the UK in the summer.

The band also have a brand new EP out titled 'Black & Blue', which you can purchase on their website.

Up until recently, I was never a fan of blondes. I mean, I've only ever dated 1 and that was a long time ago.

But now, I just can't help but notice some of our fair-haired friends and in their honour, I've decided to come up with a list of 'Blondes I would...' - Well, you know.

In no particular order...

Jessica Capshaw. (Actress. Grey's Anatomy, The L Word.)

Aside from playing Arizona Robbins, the most perfect fictional character ever, and having the coolest Step-dad in Steven Spielberg (and her real father Bob Capshaw, let's not forget him), Jessica is pretty much the cutest thing on earth.

She can also be really sexy when she wants to be... (Click here.)

Lily Loveless. (Actress. Skins.)

I know, I know, most people are in love with Emily (played by Kathryn Prescott), but I'm in love with Naomi. She's not a natural blonde, but she's always had that look of Debbie Harry about her with her bleached blonde hair.

Oh and Lily, that red lipstick... Miaow.

Laurel Holloman. (Actress. The L Word. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love.)

Yeah, yeah, she's old enough to be my Mother. What's your point? Laurel is the definition of MILF and you know it! Apparently she's also bisexual, making her the only out bisexual on my list.

Did I mention her sex scenes with Jennifer Beals in the L Word?

Kimberly Wyatt. (Singer/Dancer. The Pussycat Dolls.)

Yes, I understand that she's a brunette now. But seriously, when she was blonde, Wyatt was smokin' hot. Do I really need to explain this one? She can dance, she's gorgeous, she has the cutest laugh...

Oh, and we all know how bendy she is...

Leisha Hailey. (Actress. The L Word. All Over Me.)

Again, not a natural blonde, but she's still super hot. Leisha is actually the only out lesbian on this list, making her that little bit hotter. She can sing, act, play various instruments... Is there anything she can't do?

I'm sure I could put her to the test...

And then there are the obvious ones like Charlize Theron and P!nk.
