Congratulations are in order!

Just thought congratulations were in order from allthingsles - Glee's Jane Lynch and her long-term partner Lara Embry recently announced their engagement!

(It seems that there are no pictures of them together. Sorry!)

Lynch, who has starred in lesbian favourite The L Word and of course, as Sue Sylvester in Glee, announced the engagement to Embry just last week.

And we - as you should too - wish them all the luck for the future.

Ask Me Anything!

As the writer of this blog, I realize I've told you very little about myself.

So, in your honour, I thought I'd create a web questionnaire for you to ask me whatever you like about me.

I'm a severely honest person, so chances are, I'm going to answer whatever you ask me.

Obviously, because this is a lesbian blog, you're most likely to ask me lesbian-related questions. Go ahead - ask me whatever you like, but don't hesitate to ask me some non-lesbian related ones too.

First Celesbian Outing of the Year...

As far as I know, British singer Lady Sovereign is the first Celesbian to come out of the closet this year.

For the record Sov, when you look like that, we already know you're gay. ;)

Anyway, just last week, pint-sized Sov came out on the British version of Celebrity Big Brother.

As soon as she entered the house, the show's presenter, Davina McCall, began rumours claiming that little Sov was a great dyke.

And guess what?

She was right!

Last year was a great year for lesbian and bisexual celebrities coming out of the closet, gaining more visibility for 'our kind'.

I'm sure we all have a list of starlets who we wish were gay and also a list of who we know are gay but just haven't confirmed it yet. (Think Jodie Foster.)

But who will be next?

I have my fingers crossed for Jessica Capshaw. (Yes, I know she's married. To a man. Just let me dream, dammit!)

Speaking of Jennifer Beals...

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, I posted about Flashdance sensation Jennifer Beals.

Well, I thought I'd inform you that I'm super excited about her appearing in a major release motion picture this month.

Out now is blockbuster The Book of Eli, a film which also stars Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman.

According to Movie Website, the movie has already overtaken 3D wonder-movie Avatar in US box office takings, making $11.7m already!

You'll all obviously know Beals for lesbian cult show The L Word, so I was just wondering:

Are there any other movies coming out that star any of our favourites?

I know bisexual beauty Fergie was recently in Italian flick 'Nine', but are there any others?

Leave a comment if you know any recently released or upcoming releasing that star any of our favourite lesbians, bisexuals or guestbians!

Maybe I'll check them out and review them for you.

Child Custody: Hell For Lesbian in Vermont

We all have exes we really want to slap, right?

But what would you do if your ex - who you also had a baby with - claimed she was now straight and ran away with your child?

If you were any sort of normal person I'm guessing you'd be pretty pissed, quite frankly.

Well that's exactly what 'former-lesbian' Lisa Miller has done. Miller and her ex-partner Janet Jenkins got a Civil Union back in 2000 and Miller gave birth to little Isabella Miller-Jenkins in the same year. (That is not the family in question above - there we have an example of a real happy family.)

Now however, Miller has renounced homosexuality altogether and has pretty much gone into hiding in order to keep the child for herself.

The couple broke up way back in 2001, and courts in both Vermont and Virginia ruled in favour of Jenkins, even though she is not the birth mother. Miller did however have some custody over the child, but had since been warned that she may lose her custodial rights if she violated orders any further.

So Miller, who is now in hiding, was probably just scared of losing her daughter for good, but what was she thinking? Now her chances of seeing her daughter on a regular basis are next to nothing.

Jenkins has recently stated that she just wants "to be with her. Like any normal parent."
