Brittana Who?

Yep, I'm failing you ladies again. Sorry! (I have a lot of work to do right now, but thought I'd take a break to write quickly for you.)

In fact, I'd like to take this moment to discuss with you the lesbian discontent surrounding girl-on-girl Glee couple, 'Brittana'.

You know who I'm talking about. I'm talking about Brittany (played by dance-extraordinaire, Heather Morris) and Santana (the gorgeous Naya Rivera).

You may or may not have heard that cast-mate Lea Michele, who plays Rachel on the show, explained that Brittany & Santana have had just as much storyline on the show as Rachel & Finn (Cory Monteith).

Lea, baby, I love you, but WHAT THE F ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Not only have we had sex scenes, marriage proposals and actual ON-SCREEN TIME TOGETHER, but Brittana are yet to even kiss on-screen.

Now why aren't we being treated equally here? For the past few episodes, Brittany & Santana have not actually said one word to each other.

Creators Ryan Murphy & Brad Falchuk claim that Brittana did kiss on the bed in season 2. Bullshit.

Kissing involves actually touching of the lips. Am I right?

Is it just me, or should we start a petition to get actual on-screen, kissing time from Brittana?

My Weekly Girlcrush: Ksenia Solo

Who? What? Why? Well... If you've ever watched Lost Girl, chances are, you'll recognize Ksenia.

Remember when I asked your opinion on whether or not I should watch Canadian fantasy-drama, Lost Girl?

Well, I did. And I'm kinda glad I did, too. Even if it was only for this little lady.

You eagle-eyed movie goers may remember her from 2010 Blockbuster, Black Swan, in which she played the bitchy Veronica, and she's also had guest roles in Nikita, Cold Case and Missing. Safe to say, Solo is talented.

It's possibly her endearing, quirky personality that attracts me more, however. As Kenzi in Lost Girl, Ksenia brings humour, wit and a lovable quality to her character, and judging from the photo above, she's kind of like that in real life, too.

What's more is that she compared the show to Buffy in one interview, which I couldn't get over because I'm personally saying that all the time.

Oh yeah, her eyes are also incredible. And those legs. Wow. Stop me before I get carried away.

Out Lesbian Actress Amber Heard Attacks Closeted Hollywood

You gays have all (excuse the pun) Heard of Amber, right?

Well, if you haven't, she's one of the few openly gay actresses (who is also known for her modelling), who is known for her roles in Pineapple Express, Zombieland and most recently, The Rum Diary.

Today, UK newspaper The Telegraph reported the following quote from Amber.

One of Hollywood’s few openly homosexual actresses, Amber Heard criticises those stars who remain in the closet.
“You can’t respect yourself if you’re afraid to be who you are,” says Heard, 25, who appears opposite Johnny Depp in his latest film, The Rum Diary.
“It requires bravery to do something no one else around you is doing, but the risk was outweighed by the possibility of playing into this horribly detrimental lie that some in Hollywood perpetuate.”
(Source | The Telegraph)
Now personally, I'm not sure how I feel about this. I mean yes, it would be perfect if all of the closeted actors and actresses could come out right now and support the gay community, but I think we're all forgetting about the well-being of these people and their families.
For most stars, their art is their source of income. By coming out of the closet, they're more likely to face homophobic discrimination, especially when it comes to them being cast in new jobs, not to mention closed-minded parents who would attack them for being 'bad role models' to their children.
I'm not supporting homophobia here, I mean HELLO, I write a lesbian blog. But I think the way in which Amber is suggesting that all gay celebrities should just come out like she did is out of the question, at least in the current political climate.
To me, calling their lives a 'lie' is extremely disrespectful. Every member of the LGBTQ community knows how hard it is to come out when you're not in the limelight, never mind when you're under so much pressure whilst being watched by the public.
What I'm trying to say is yes, it would be wonderful if we lived in a world where these public figures could freely be themselves, but there are also underlying circumstances and factors of personal choice that blur the lines slightly.

Transgender Day Of Remembrance

Yesterday (Sunday, 20th November, 2011) was Transgender Day of Remembrance.

I know, this isn't specifically lesbian news but transgenders are part of our community too, so I hope I don't receive any qualms over this post.

As you may or may not know, earlier this year, 14 year old, Jamey Rodemeyer committed suicide as a result of homophobic bullying.

What you're probably less likely to know is that 50% of transgender people have attempted to commit suicide by the age of 20, whether they were successful or not, and at least one transgender is killed every month in America alone.

Although it was remembrance yesterday, I'd like you to take a moment, if you will, to remember those who committed suicide just for being who they are.

Also, if you ever witness any kind of bullying please tell someone. And if the bully is your friend, tell them to think twice before they say anything, because suicide? No sane, moralistic human being wishes that upon another person.

My Weekly Girlcrush: Emma Stone

Now my annual Top 20 Hot Ladies (click to see the list) is officially over and done with, it's time to get back to my "Weekly Girlcrush" segment. And boy, have I got a hottie for you today.

Yep, that's right, Emma Stone is my next culprit.

I've never understood the stigma about redheads, although some would not agree.

Anyway, I actually love Emma Stone, not only because she's an unconventional(?) beauty, but because I can't help but fall in love with a lady with an amazing sense of humour.

If you've seen any of her movies - Easy A, Zombieland, The Help, for instance - you'll know that not only is she talented in the general acting department, but she's also relentlessly funny and appears to not even realize how funny she actually is. And we all know how hot people who don't realize their full talent are, right? Just me? Nah, I'm sure some of you will agree with this one.

There are also some incredible photographs that I've seen of her which put her in the 'beautiful on the outside' category. She actually has the most symmetrical mouth I've ever seen. Yeah, that's weird, but I have a thing for lips. So sue me.

What's more is that she's reportedly said that she's "open to a lesbian relationship" and that Cristina Hendricks (again, I'm drooling) is her girl crush. Let me give you a minute to get that image into your head...

In fact, I'm going to have to end this post right now because I can't stop thinking about the possibility of those two. Enjoy.

UK Prime Minister Threatens To Cut Aid To Homophobic Countries

Hey gays, here's another step up the UK have made this week: Prime Minister David Cameron seems to have explicitly stated that he will "cut aid to countries who refuse to overturn their bans on homosexuality."

Cameron, who has in the past been dubbed homophobic himself, seems to have changed his attitude completely - and the Ugandan Government are already furious.

As homosexual acts are illegal in Uganda and the majority of other African countries, this could be a huge threat to their continent. However, the fact that Mr. Cameron is standing up for gay rights on a worldwide scale appears to be one of the best things he's done for the country.

Furthermore, although he once said that legalizing gay marriage was not an option, there have now been several reports implying that Cameron wishes to make same-sex marriage legal by the year 2015.

Personally, I did not support him in the last UK election, but it seems that I am changing my mind about him. I wouldn't consider myself a Conservative party member, yet it is clear that Cameron's intentions are positive for the LGBTQ community.

Now we just have to see whether he lives up to his word...

What do you gays think about Cameron and how do you think he will go about handling these issues in the future?

Rihanna... Is GAY

Okay, okay, she's not.

Well, probably.

It was reported, however, that "RiRi" was spotted in Paris carrying a lesbian bondage manual.
Here's was TruthDive had to say.

London, Oct 23 (ANI): Rihanna was recently snapped leaving a Paris hotel clutching an “X rated lesbian bondage” manual.
The book, entitled Omahyra and Boyd, is by photographer Ellen von Unwerth, and contains graphic sexual imagery of nudity, women in bondage gear and lesbian lovemaking.
The Barbadian beauty had worked closely with Unwerth in the past, who shot the artwork to promote the singer’s 2009 album ‘Rated R’, the Daily Mail reported.
Rihanna, 23, recently performed her ‘LOUD’ tour in Paris.

Well I'm not too sure what this means.

Surely Rihanna isn't planning on doing another S&M style video, this time with lesbians?

Hopefully, Rihanna is subtly coming out to us. (We know it's never gonna happen, but we can dream, right?)
