Turning
Tables: The Dinah
Pushes the
Music Scene Forward Perpetuating the Rise of Women & Now Transgender DJs
Behind the Decks
Palm Springs, CA - In an industry that is categorically dominated by males, female DJs have been progressively multiplying in the nation's clubs, bringing their own unique sounds and individual talent.
Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend has continuously been championing this
blossoming movement, year after year, proving these DJs can more than rise to
the occasion.
This year, Club Skirts is proud to introduce DJ Automaton, the first
transgender DJ to join the Dinah roster, in support of the (still)
underrepresented and underserved transgender community.
Bringing DJs from all over the states and all walks of life, The Dinah
offers an incredible platform for female and transgender DJs to showcase their
chops and increase their visibility. These are individuals who more than hold
their own in this boy’s club. They are making a difference within the community
and perpetuating the rapid rise of the girl power culture.
We invite you to meet some of our top Dinah DJ tastemakers.
Known for some of the country’s hottest parties, these DJs have one
thing in common—they’re not afraid to “mix” it up.
They know how to spin the decks, keep the beat going, and keep pushing
to carve out a unique sound for the Dinah!

LeahV:
LeahV aka Leah McFly, is an award-winning, Boston-based DJ/producer who
has been actively working in nightlife for over ten years. Recently nominated a
sixth consecutive time for a Boston Music Award (and a win in 2011/DJ Artist of
the Year), Leah is riding a wave of substantial and steady bookings to the top
of the DJ game, finding herself on a list of not only the "Top 10 DJ's in
Boston", but also the "Top 100 DJ's in the Country" (Sun
Times/2014).
After 16 years of learning
the craft, she’s still out to perfect each party. Her seamless, genre-blending
sets, in addition to her innate ability to read just about any crowd have made
her a staple in the Boston scene, and a commodity on a national level, booking
events and residencies in New York, Miami, San Francisco, DC, Philadelphia, and
beyond. Leah is also well established as a music curator for major brands such
as Nike, Converse, Conde Nast, and Hearst Media, bringing the aural aesthetic
of each brand to life. Known to many as "The People's DJ", she has
managed to blur the lines between the sexes in an intensely male-dominated
field, drawing the focus away from gender, and placing it solely on skill…as it
should be.
