ANTIGONE RISING Announces New Album, “Whiskey & Wine, Volume 2"

“Whiskey & Wine, Volume 2" Out March 17, 2015
& New US Tour Dates

NEW YORK, NY - Antigone Rising (AR), the New York based all-female rock band, has announced the release of "Whiskey & Wine - Volume 2” in conjunction with new tour dates. Volume 2 will be available on iTunes and AR’s website on March 17th.

The fab four comprised of Nini Camps (lead singer), Dena Tauriello (drums) and founding sisters Kristen Henderson (bass/vocals) and Cathy Henderson (guitar/vocals), are showing no signs of slowing down!

Since releasing "Whiskey & Wine - Volume 1” on iTunes and the band’s official website last year, the band has not only kept busy with a non-stop touring schedule but as well with long studio hours to complete the highly anticipated Volume Two of the double EP project.
"With W&W Vol. 2 the songs have gotten much more personal, the productions a little more elaborate.  These songs all have something to say.” says Kristen  Henderson.  "It's important to the band that we write songs that say something about who we are and what we stand for. We are looking forward to touring and performing the songs for a live audience, getting the crowd's reaction and visiting cities we haven't been to in quite some time. It's going to be a great year for Antigone Rising.

The massive success of Volume One kept the band on the road for the most part of 2014 . The first single “That was the Whiskey”, co-written with Nashville songwriter Lori McKenna (Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Hunter Hayes), premiered on CMT trending in the Top 10 and was nominated in the "Country Song" Category at The 13th Annual Independent Music Awards.

Antigone Rising have toured with such A-listers as Aerosmith and The Rolling Stones; were appointed as cultural ambassadors by the United States government to tour Israel and the Middle East; and have also played a part in LGBTQ advocacy, making news when Kristin Ellis-Henderson appeared on the cover of Time Magazine with wife Sarah Kate Ellis-Henderson (president/CEO of GLAAD) for a feature on marriage equality.

The girls have consistently been turning up everywhere from the pages of Curve Magazine, Billboard, Out Magazine, Buzzfeed, AfterEllen and the Huffington Post to appearances on The Today Show and The Tonight Show, among others.

No one can deny the momentum behind Antigone Rising!

Known for their unique & electrifying live performances featuring toe-tapping beats and powerful vocals, Antigone Rising is not just good; they are insanely good and best experienced live.  And whether on stage or on an iPod, Antigone Rising continues to make a lot of noise!

RONY TENNENBAUM's "Same-Sex Marriage" Rings Bring New Trends

RONY TENNENBAUM, ONE OF THE DRIVING FORCES BEHIND THE NEW WAVE OF ‘CONTEMPORARY” DESIGN WORK, BRINGS A NEW TREND TO THE WEDDING JEWELRY MARKET

New York, NY - The landscape of the bridal jewelry market has been experiencing an incredible shift in recent years. While traditional designs and classic solitaire diamond rings have flanked the showcases for generations, there is a movement toward new and contemporary.  This shift is greatly attributed to the surge in same-sex marriages flooding the country.

With over 70% of the LGBT community living in states that allow marriage equality, the demand for modernized wedding jewelry designs is imminent.  Trend setters in their own right and early adaptors to modernizing ideas and contemporary styles, same sex couples are a new audience who just gained access to the wedding industry and they are paving the way to modernizing it.

Rony Tennenbaum, whose powerhouse designs have been celebrated for more than 25 years by the LGBT community, is one of the driving forces behind this new wave of “Contemporary” design work and at the forefront of this new bridal jewelry trend.

The New York based designer – has created collections of engagement and wedding rings that reflect the latest fashion trends, yet still incorporate everything that is timeless and classic about bridal.

Voted one of the Innovators of 2015 by InStore Magazine, Rony Tennenbaum and his brand are rapidly expanding across the nation reaching a new generation of jewelry consumers.

Tennenbaum's collections are created to think "outside the box", be fresh and innovative ideas, but have surpassed far beyond just the LGBT market.

While the LGBT wedding market continues to grow and to rally mainstream retailers around its customer – even the venerable 178-years-old Tiffany & Co recently featured a gay couple in its new ad campaign – the so-called “alternative bridal” has taken a new definition. If the basic rule is there are no rules, clichés are certainly passé.

Tennenbaum has seen a fast growth in demand for his unique collections. In June of last year, Seattle-based Ben Bridge Jeweler, owned by Warren Buffett’s holding company Berkshire Hathaway Inc., began carrying jewelry by Rony Tennenbaum, and recently added three more West Coast locations.

This past September, Tapper’s added his collection to all 3 of its Detroit locations.  Expanding recently into 4 new markets, Tennenbaum is now located in: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Virginia and Washington.

The Tennenbaum brand represents a growing movement in bridal jewelry fashion that pays attention to the individual storytelling.  Tennenbaum’s contemporary Wedding Jewelry designs mirror the new tastes and desires of modern wedding customers privileging the sentimental over the traditional – more than being different it’s about showcasing your personality and individuality.

Up & Coming LGBTQ Music: Georgie Paterson

Georgia Paterson Releases Debut EP ‘Hear Your Voice’

Folk-pop singer-songwriter Georgia Paterson is released her debut EP on February 16th 2015. The EP, entitled Hear Your Voice, has Georgia looking to make an impact on the back of the superb reputation she has already built on the live music scene in South Wales.

Hear Your Voice was produced by Charlie Francis (REM, The Noisettes). Georgia is no stranger to working with renowned musicians - her debut single Thought it Might be You being produced by Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Mel C) and with Catatonia's Aled Richards on drums. Hear Your Voice also features musicians Jack Egglestone (Future of the left), Angharad Jenkins (Calan) and Daniel Lawrence (Olion Byw).

She could have been a doctor, a clinical psychologist or a scientist – but as it is, Georgia has found her home making her own brand of folk-pop, laced with the fearlessness and confidence of someone who knows just who they are. Georgia is Welsh and wears her heart on her sleeve - much to the benefit of her music, with a raw lyrical honesty lying behind the super ear-worm melodies.

This former BBC Radio Wales Welsh Artist of the Week’s musical influences are both borrowed and found. Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel were taken from the older brother who taught her her first chords. Jewel and The Cranberries, she grabbed onto in her youth and hasn’t let go since. And later discoveries the Indigo Girls and KT Tunstall - the latter Georgia wasn’t sure if she wanted to be her or be with her.

On a personal note, Georgia recently married her girlfriend and has been a supporter of many LGBT events; including playing Cardiff's Big Queer Picnic, Swindon Pride and the European Capital of Sport Unity Cup 2014. Georgia was also a finalist (in the top 3) in Heather Peace’s ‘The Thin Line’ tour support competition.

To co-incide with the release of her EP Georgia has written and recorded a special track for Valentines Day. Called Not Enough Words, it was written for her wife. “I was trying to tell her how much I love her and having that ‘what do I write on the card’ moment”, says Georgia.  The video and song can be found by clicking HERE.

Here are some nice things people have said about Georgia:

“Georgia Paterson merges catchy hook laden nuggets with lyrics that draw you in and make you want to know more. Her songs are refreshing and she looks like she loves what she does...certainly one to watch.” - Alan Thompson, BBC Radio Wales.

"Such a pure voice...fantastic stuff...how beautiful was that, gosh she can play can't she...” - Eleri Sion, BBC Radio Wales.

"Amazing set - utterly brilliant!" - Roath Rocks 2013.

"Future superstar, superb Welsh artist" - The Cwm, BRFM.

“Superb stuff, that was awesome...brilliant...such swagger...she's got it, love it.” - Showcase Wales, GTFM.

WET FOR HER Reveal How EXACTLY They Design Their Adult Toys

WET FOR HER UNVEILS NEWLY REDESIGNED WEBSITE GIVING

AN INTIMATE LOOK BEHIND THE DESIGNING PROCESS OF NEW TOYS!

Cyberspace - Sex toy empire, Wet for Her, has unveiled a newly redesigned website at  http://www.wetforher-design.com/

The launch of the new design represents the continuous efforts of CEO Alice Derock to elevate the premium sex toy experience both online and on mobile platforms as the website remains one of the most popular sex toys resources available. Derock's main contribution to the lesbian community remains a line of products designed specifically for lesbian sexual enjoyment, which has been lacking for years.

Revamped and reenergized, the new site features enhanced format with more engaging and visually appealing content. The site now provides additional background on the skill, dedication and passion behind the creation, designs and drawings of sex toys.

From an idea to reality, from drawings to prototyping and testing, WFH is proud to take you behind the scenes to show anyone curious to understand what the work of a sex toy designer looks like.

To commemorate the upgrade, while also kicking off the V-Day week, WFH is also profiling its #1 bestseller: THE FUSION, designed in Paris, France.

For costumers asking the question “what to give” next Valentine’s, WFH can help shoppers with their selection and make this V-Day one of the most memorable EVER by investing in their sex life.

WFH’s products continue to take the market by storm.  Expanding to new territories, now for the first time ever, WHF has opened sales in Australia. Australian customers can now order goodies online and not only pay in Australian dollars but as well expect shipment to be effectuated in less than a week.

DeRock’s innovative Wet For Her product line has made a splash (pun intended) worldwide and recently received a nomination for an 'O’ Award from the American adult video industry trade magazine AVN (Adult Video News), which recognizes companies and products that raise the bar for the novelty and pleasure products industry.

While the release of Fifty Shades of Grey is expected to whip up demand for sex toys as straight couples ready to re-enact some of the kinky antics of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, in the lesbian scene, there has always been a clear demand for sex toys (for women by women).
And Wet For Her has positioned itself as the ultimate authority in the field.

The leading lesbian-owned brand that not only speaks to the lesbian market but also has successfully come to represent lesbian sexuality in an elegant and classy way with tools of love from the land of love: France … ooh la la!

TV FANGIRL MOMENT OF THE MONTH: The 100 Lesbians

by Lauren W

Okay, okay, I know. I said that this new segment was going to be entitled "TV Fangirl Moment of the Week".

Well, everyone knows how bad a procrastinator I am. I can't help it; I've tried to stop, but when it comes to shirking your responsibilities (even if my responsibilities include to document my fangirling), you will find no one better.

So, I've decided to change the title to "Moment of the MONTH". I'm not gonna lie, it might be weekly, monthly... 23-daily, even. But "TV Fangirl Moment of the 23rd Day Since My Last Article" isn't catchy enough. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

ANYWAY. Here it is.

YES, YES, YES.

The 100 surprised everyone last week by making its lead female character bisexual.

Clarke (left, played by Eliza Taylor) is the show's leading lady and leader of the Sky People. (Don't ask, it's too difficult to explain unless you watch the damn thing). And the girl she's kissing (right, played by Alycia Debnam Carey) is the leader of the Grounders. (Again, don't ask).

My point is, they're two strong, powerful women with control over a ton of people... AND THEY'RE MAKING OUT. If this isn't fangirl-worthy I don't know what is.

This is also a massive step for gayness on television. The producers have confirmed that Clarke is indeed bisexual, making her the first leading bisexual character on any show. (I'm not including Orange Is The New Black here, as all of the gay and bisexual ladies in that show are arguably "the leading lady".) In any case, it's the first action-led TV show I've seen led by a bisexual character. (And I'm not including Lost Girl in this case either, as I class it as a fantasy show. So calm down.)

Anyway, up until this point, The 100 has been completely void of any LGBTQ characters. But now we gay ladies have something to get extremely excited about. Squee.

Did you see this milestone lesbian kiss happen? And what were your TV fangirl moments of the week/month/decade?

INDIEGOGO CAMPAIGN: Nikki & Nora Season 2!

tello Films Launches Indiegogo Fundraising Campaign to Produce Season 2 of Nikki & Nora

As fans clearly don’t want to let go of the hugely popular crime fighting lesbian couple in America’s oldest party town, tello films, Nancylee Myatt and the cast of NIKKI & NORA have launched a fundraising campaign to bring Season 2 to computer screens around the world.

The campaign will be running until mid-March and is expected to break its previous record.
The fundraising campaign for Nikki & Nora Season One was indeed the largest funded campaign for a series with lesbian lead characters, raising $65,000, surpassing their goal by 30%.

Nikki & Nora follows New Orleans locals Nikki Beaumont (Liz Vassey) and Nora Delaney (Christina Cox), former NOPD cops turned private investigators in the Big Easy post Katrina.  They navigate the channels of their personal life together alongside their dedication to uncovering the truth in the one city that really likes to keep its secrets. The original lead actresses are joined by a super cast of other familiar faces including Janina Gavankar (best known as “Papi” on Showtime’s The L Word) and Aasha Davis (Pariah, South of Nowhere), among others.

Originally created in 2004 for the now defunct UPN network, the series would revolve around two professional and romantic female partners who worked for the Special Crimes Unit of the New Orleans Police Department. UPN passed on the show, but the unaired episode didn’t die and instead made its way to YouTube.

The show became a critical online smash and somewhat of an internet phenomenon - a juggernaut of watercooler talk that ran rampant over social media and some of today’s major online trendspotters. While the pilot accumulated dust on a shelf for 9 years, with loyal fans keeping their love thriving through fan-fiction sites, Nikki & Nora was at last reborn as a web series.

Now, in the Netflix and overall online tradition, fans can boot up their computers, grab a bowl of popcorn, laissez les bon temps rouler (let the good times roll) and enjoy a binge-watching marathon of “ N&N” indulging in seven glorious episodes all at once on tellofilms.com
