Up & Coming Lesbian Web Series: In The Deep!

Love the British? Love lesbians? Love British lesbians? Then this one's for you.

The Brits are coming! DreamCoat Productions presents In The Deep.

London, UK – DCP presents In The Deep, which stars Luke Wilson, Zebulun Delisser, Denver Issac, Olu Ubadike, Gareth Andrews and featuring Damilola Fashola, Nozomi Orlando and Mark Massett. More info can also be found on www.inthedeepuk.com.
DCP is proud to bring In The Deep a web drama series about four funloving best friends who live in the heart of London’s vibrant East End, each harbouring secrets of their own. This is not just another queer web drama series, it’s a story about people, their loves, lives and lies. Ade is stuck between two worlds, British-Nigerian and gay. He lives a double life, hiding his relationships on both ends; Emilia has the confusing ‘thing’ with Riley, her straight best friend who also has a boyfriend. Wesley is struggling to decide whether to fight for love or let someone else sweep him off his feet. Rene realises that he finally has to grow up.
The show’s creators see this as bringing something new and different online to a community that up until now did not have their story being told in the same light. This is a fun and lighthearted drama with real characters and real people, shot in a way that is not seen online, therefore raising the bar in terms of production quality. So the first two episodes were shot through the help of people who have worked on films like Prometheus, World War Z, Jack the Giant Slayer and XMen: First Class, but they believe in this project that they’ve given their time for free, and now we are doing a fundraising campaign to help fund the rest of the production in terms of equipment, locations and post-production.
In The Deep was created and written by Joseph Adesunloye and Joy Gharoro Akpojotor. The episodes are directed by Joseph Adesunloye and Vins Blake, with Canadian director Sarah Warren slated to come on board to direct episodes further down the line.
Check out the first episodes: www.inthedeepuk.com / http://vimeo.com/63463234. More info on our fundraising campaign: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/inthedeepwebseries/x/2492735.

Now Available: Kiss Her, I'm Famous!

Remember not so long ago we interviewed the wonderfully humorous director of new lesbian web series, Kiss Her I'm Famous? (Click THIS if you missed it.)

Well, good news! The web series is now available.

There's a new celebrity sex tape that has become the latest Hollywood heat!

San Francisco based award-winning out filmmaker Rolla Selbak kicks off season 1 of her newest project, the web series dubbed “Kiss Her I’m Famous”, premiering the first two episodes online via tellofilms.com.

Starring The Real L-Word’s Tracy Ryerson and Ilea Matthews (The Violent Kind), and featuring Rizwan Manji (Outsourced), "Kiss Her I'm Famous", follows two down-and-out best friends who look for fame in all the wrong places.

At a time where gratuity and fake publicity seems to be able to catapult just about anyone who knows how to press "record" on a camcorder into the spotlight, “Kiss Her I’m Famous” is a nod to the sex tape culture that catapulted the careers of Paris Hilton , Kim Kardashian (and many other celebrities) into the stratosphere.

A web series that satirizes the booming business of the sex tape madness, and how celebrity wannabes utilizes their home movies as a ticket to greater stardom and a major payday.  Kiss Her I’m Famous follows two hilarious and clueless characters as they aim to create a celebrity sex tape that launches them into fame.

Watch the series at http://www.kissherimfamous.com!

Interview w/ Out Lesbian Author, Kiki Archer

Remember when we reviewed that pretty great lesbian novel for you? (Click HERE if you don't!)

Well look who's back with a brand new book: its Kiki Archer herself.

Check out our interview with here and get all the latest gossip, right here on All Things Lesbian.

All Things Lesbian: You write primarily lesbian-orientated fiction. Can you give us some clues as to what your new book is about without giving too much away?

Kiki Archer: My new novel is called “Binding Devotion”. (Click HERE for the book trailer!)

So basically the novel is about love, betrayal, commitment and sex, with the central plot focusing on the question: “What’s more important … the bond of marriage or the pull of desire?”

Terry Baker is the top UK lesbian fiction reviewer and this is what she had to say about “Binding Devotion” :

It has also been reviewed by the popular Planet London girls HERE.

ATL: Lesbian fiction is unfortunately not very prevalent in today's climate. What do you think our authors and the LGBT community can do to push it into the limelight?

KA: The lesbian fiction genre is thriving amongst lesbians, or at least that seems to be the case in the UK. I write for lesbians. I know that many of my straight family and friends have read my books and enjoyed them, but it is not important to me to actively try and ‘widen’ my readership. The lesbian community are very loyal and the support that I have received has been absolutely fantastic.

If my novels were to soar up the general romance chart then obviously I would be overjoyed, but ‘generally’ I think straight women, who enjoy chick lit, prefer reading about handsome men and strapping hunks, as opposed to same sex female relationships. BUT, that being said, I do get a lot of messages from ‘straight’ women who have chosen to buy my lesbian fiction books, read them, enjoy them, and then contact me to ‘discuss’ them further. (Obviously all behind their male partners backs. LOL)

ATL: Why do you choose to focus on the lives of lesbians in your writing?

KA: I choose to focus on the lives of lesbians because I’m living the life of a lesbian. It’s what I know and it’s what comes naturally to me. I enjoy using experiences that I've had and emotions that I've felt in my writing, and it just so happens that my experiences and emotions mostly involve women. I wouldn't want to write a love story about a heroine falling passionately in love with the handsome hero, as I have absolutely no idea what that feels like!

ATL: Do you have any future publications coming up?

KA: I am currently working on a couple of short stories that will be included in lesbian fiction anthologies this year, and I am in the planning stages with my new novel. My first two books “But She Is My Student” and “Instigations” were very light hearted easy read chick lit novels. “Binding Devotion” handled some deeper topics and emotions, and I think my new novel will be a happy balance in between. I love writing funny, laugh out loud romances, but it is also important to me that I include poignant issues that make you think about, or question, your own views and beliefs.

ATL: We know you're passionate about the same-sex marriage debates which are currently a hot topic in the US and the UK. If you had to create a PSA of sorts for undecided voters, how would you persuade them to vote in favour of equal marriage?

KA: I would show them this short video that I made: CLICK!

After they watched it I would ask them to tell me why they thought they had the right to judge my life as less worthy than theirs. Why they thought they had the right to say my life was not as valuable as theirs. Why they should even dare to think they can ‘vote’ on my life. I am equal, as are all LGBT people in this world that we share, equally, together.
