This morning, as a Christian, I picked up my Bible to re-read the book of Corinthian. Now I know that the Bible isn't the most gay friendly book of all time, but the following extract made me briefly hate religion in its entirety.
"1 Corinthians 6:9,10,13
Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the Kingdom of God."
Now I'm not saying the Bible is wrong - maybe homosexuals are forbidden from going to heaven - but surely, if God is as 'all-giving' and as 'all-loving' as Christianity implies, shouldn't all people, no matter what their race or beliefs are, go to heaven?
Usually, I believe in everything the Bible says, but this extract made me question if I believed in this statement against homosexuals. Then I realized, maybe I do believe this phrase to be true. Maybe it's true that deceased homosexuals reside in hell, next to the murderers and rapists.
No, I'm turning against gay people and 'changing my lifestyle' to become a heterosexual, I'm simply stating that I would rather go to hell than betray myself and my fellow gay people. I'm saying now that I'd rather be gay and happy in my lifetime, and go to hell as a result, than be walking around pretending to be heterosexual and have an extremely unhappy life, just so that I can walk through the pearly gates.
If the Bible says I go to hell for being gay, then so be it. Ladies and Gentlemen, I am going to hell. I am going to hell for committing a 'crime' that doesn't even exist among Western culture. I am going to hell because I am not a liar and I am not in denial. I am gay and proud now, and I will continue to be when God asks me if I have sinned during my time on Earth.
So gays, go to hell. I'll see you there!

WOOH I will see you in hell then Laurel. At least we will be together.
I'd rather be in a place full of homo's, than a place full of homophobes tbh. And if that means i'm in hell, then so be it. :)
You write the bestest blogs.
I will see you there! A place full of gays will be one hell of a party ;)
Oh I agree ;)
well, when Bette Porter's father asked her what she would say to God, she said;
"I am your creation and I am proud"
so there we go.
See you in hell :)
In terms of the bible, and the subject of homosexuality I believe that context is a huge thing that needs to be looked at rather than just looking at a passage in isolation. I recently became a Christian so there are many things that i don't know yet, and that question if god is against homosexuality i don't know yet. The singular most clear thing that I know is in terms of perfection, this is unattainable and humans are all sinners. Salvation only occurs when there acknowledgement of sins, and the acknowledgement that Jesus pays for your sins. You effectively become sinless in the eyes of God.
On the side note, even the pope is not the most reliable source of God's message. It saddens me how they divide instead of unite. So I keep in mind 'take refuge in God, not man'.
Lia, I agree. Bette Porter is an angel :)
Glory hallelujah! I agree with Vanessa. Everyone is a sinner, there is no person on this earth who has not sinned and like my mom says "If anyone were perfect they'd be sitting next to God right now."
I try to follow the bible and I believe alot of the things the bible says but I know that I can't follow everything it says. I absolutely dont think homosexuals are going to hell. Jesus died for our sins and I feel like we can be forgiven. When we meet God in the afterlife and if he does indeed for himself confirms homosexuality is a sin. I feel like he would allows us the chance to repent.
I mean I love the bible as a guideline to try to follow but my ultimate source is God himself. I feel like we will never know if the bible truly is accurate, and the only way we will know is through God. So I'm waiting to get answers from him.
First of all let the bible interpret the bible..in the Bible there is no word.for.word gay and lesbian goto hell but the Bible exactly pointing out and addressing about our actions. lets us give an example Mary Magdeline she was a prostitute and be stoned to death but Jesus forgave her..the question now is Mary Magdeline went back to become a prostitute while following Jesus??..Accepting Christ is fine but what is our evidence yhaat we really followed and believed in Christ..In the bible people who believed in Jesus during his time genuinely followed him even those demon possed who healed by Jesus also wants to follow him even Judas followed Jesus his always with Jesus but he never believed fully..so the question if Gay or lesbian will goto hell Yes, through our actions yes..all have sinned and.fall short glory to God but doesnt mean we have a license to disregard all the passages in the bible.
